In the Gardens of Florence

Though guests were staying throughout the bustle of Florence, once inside the gates of the Giardino Corsini, the city dropped out of view.

Gravel paths cut through clipped hedges, marble statues, fountains, and an ancient limonaia.

The ceremony took place in a more intimate corner of the estate. Lauren processed with her mother, a sixpence tucked into her shoe and a rosary woven into the stem of her bouquet. The beads rested against her hand, a family heirloom and a tactile remembrance of her father.

After the ceremony, guests reentered the gardens, the grounds revealing themselves one turn at a time as they moved toward aperitivo.

Dinner was set directly in front of the palace entrance. A single long table nestled into the forecourt, where the meal unfolded slowly over many courses.

The portraits were quick and fun. Even when we stepped out during dinner for sunset photos, it was just a few minutes before we were back to partying.

As night fell, the afterparty moved into the limonaia. Dancing continued late inside, while gelato and pizza were served outdoors in the garden — the perfect Florentine nightcap.

There was a photo on their website I couldn’t stop staring at because it made me feel like I was there. That’s exactly what we received in our own gallery.
