Last month I had the chance to go to Cancun to photograph Suri and Marco's wedding. While I was there, I spent an afternoon getting to know them and taking their engagement photos. Suri and Marco both live in Cancun, where they met, though she is from Mexico City and he from Germany. It was such a pleasure to meet them and to experience their amazing hospitality, as they welcomed me into their city and home. Though I met them for the first time the week of their wedding, I felt a part of the celebration and am honored to have experienced such an important day with them. Their wedding week was not without its difficulty-- Hurricane Rina lingered off the shore of Cancun for the days prior to their celebration and hit as a tropical storm the night before their scheduled wedding-- but their spirits remained high. They had to postpone their wedding two days, but it was absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to share. For now, enjoy a few favorites from their engagement session. These two are lovely.
I am excited that today we get to show you my favorites from Karin and Jeremy's wedding! Yesterday, their wedding was featured on Style Me Pretty, but I've got a few more photos to share with you today. I had such a wonderful time working with this couple throughout their wedding weekend. Karin and Jeremy were both laid-back, focusing not just on all the details of their day but mostly on the fact that they were getting married and were able to celebrate that with friends and family. When it comes down to it, the end of a wedding day always comes, regardless of how perfectly planned or designed it was, but what really remains is the love that was experienced, witnessed, and committed. These two have so many people who support them, from their parents and siblings down to all the "little friends" that served as ring bearers and flowergirls (and looked SO adorable all day). Friends and family had a huge part in the preparation for the day as well, as Karin asked friends to BYOB (bring your own bundt cake) to put on each table as decoration (and then, of course, to eat) and her dress was designed by her aunt and made by her mom. She also used a ton of Etsy sellers, all of whom are credited at the bottom of the post. I loved the simple, hand-made touches that celebrated Karin and Jeremy's individuality and, most importantly, their commitment to each other. I was extremely honored to be a part of such a sacred gathering and to be reminded again of what a wedding day is truly about.
