WHAT IS YOUR STYLE?
We are honored to work with couples who share a refined taste in art and fashion. Our work is driven by elegant simplicity and the subtleties of a moment. We create art that is elevated, tasteful, and timeless.
DO YOU TRAVEL FOR WEDDINGS?
Yes, we have photographed and filmed weddings all around the world. In fact, the majority of Bryan’s wedding commissions are from out of state and/or destination weddings. A customized travel quote will be made for any weddings outside of California or France.
ARE YOU NATURAL LIGHT PHOTOGRAPHERS?
Many brides contact us that have been advised to seek out natural light photographers. The short answer is that we use whatever tools are best for the specific image we are creating. Every decision we make as photographers manipulates light in some way. This includes where we stand, the equipment we use, and the settings we choose. We use various cameras, films, and lighting equipment depending on the specific situation.
DO YOU SHOOT FILM OR DIGITAL?
In short- both. This is similar to the natural light question in that we use whatever gear is best in a specific situation. We love the look of analog film, but there are many situations where a modern digital camera excels.
WILL YOU MAKE US POSE?
There are times throughout the wedding day in which is best to let the moment spontaneously unfold, and times when a gentle direction is useful and actually comforting. We know when each is more important, and while we definitely won’t make you pose if the situation doesn’t require it, we’ll be there to put our expertise in composition at your service, if needed.
HOW MANY PHOTOGRAPHERS/CINEMATOGRAPHERS SHOULD I HAVE AT MY WEDDING?
If you are having a reception with over 120 guests, a second shooter is recommended. It might even be best to consider 3 or 4 photographers depending on the size and timetable of the event. If your event has less than 100 guests you could definitely consider a single photographer. Our films require a minimum of two cinematographers.
WHAT IS THE BOOKING PROCESS?
We have gone through great lengths to insure that the booking process is easy and convenient. Contracts are viewed and signed electronically online. A retainer and a signed contract is required in order to reserve your date.
HOW ARE THE IMAGES DELIVERED?
The images are delivered via a special online gallery that is made available to you following the completion of the edit. The complete gallery is available for download with a password we provide you. You can also share the gallery with friends and family, select images for your album, and order professional prints from a lab that is calibrated to my monitor. Your gallery will remain active for nine months.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SEE OUR IMAGES?
Each image is hand selected and edited to tell the story of your wedding day. This process can take anywhere from 8 to 12 weeks. Once completed, your collection will become available in your personal, password protected gallery and will consist of a mixture of color and black and white images.
HOW MANY IMAGES CAN WE EXPECT?
The number of images that we deliver varies greatly from wedding to wedding. We are documenting any action that is happening, and any items that you spend time, energy, or money on. We take images all day and deliver the best image of a series. So for example, if a group of friends are chatting and laughing at the cocktail hour we will take a few images and deliver whichever photo they all have their eyes open with the most flattering expressions. The length of time that we are shooting, the number of photographers that are hired, the amount of downtime on the wedding day, if there is travel between the ceremony and reception or hotel and ceremony, the length of the ceremony, the number of guests, the amount of details (decorations), the amount of people dancing, and many more factors contribute to the variation in the amount of photos we deliver. This past year we delivered some galleries with 400 images and some with over a thousand.
DO YOU TAKE FAMILY PHOTOS?
Family photos are an important part of the legacy that we are documenting on your wedding day. These combinations are the most effective way to make sure we have great images of the bride and groom with each family member.
DO YOU TAKE PHOTOS OF THE DANCE PARTY?
The viewer of your wedding images should feel like he or she is right there in the room, experiencing each part of the day. While our signature, sophisticated style is the perfect pairing to document the beauty of your ceremony, our approach does change as the evening progresses. As your friends and family loosen up, the energy in our imagery reflects this.
